I do not know when to apply certain dificult words in a sentence. An example would be Hermaphrodite, maundering and etc.
What works for you and what does not?
So far, reading storybooks and newspapers does not help me as they bore me to tears. The only thing that I find working for me is watching drama and anime series. This is due to the fact that the sound effects and the language that they speak are cool! However, I am unable to understand the language that they speak and thus reading the subtitles is my only option. This has helped me to widen my range of vocabulary and taught me the right application for grammar. All in all, watching anime series can be addictive! =P
How much have I learnt this year?
I have learnt quite a lot as compared to the previous year. This is because it is the first time I have attained a grade above average!
Are you happy with your progress?
I am happy with my progress, but it still does not satisfy my needs. I would need to attain a better grade and I would go all out just to achieve it.

i agree about newspapers and storybooks is quite boring but they help us effectively compare to anime. Nice Blog
ReplyDeleteIf you wish to attain a higher level, you would need to read materials of higher level.
ReplyDeleteYou are limiting yourself if your only source of vocabulary is from the subtitles of anime as the subject matter of anime is limited.
You need to read widely to expand your vocabulary.

your english is in a good progress, but somehow you like to use words that are so difficult to understand.
so if you can, why not you enter the meaning for those which english language is not that good..?
it can also show that you really know the word's..
